So far so good...

Photo taken from here
Thursday was difficult, I spent the morning at university and then met my friend in town for lunch. Whilst walking to the pub we passed New Look and peering through the door I spotted at least four tops that I loved. Luckily I had told my friend about the Challenge and she did very well to stop me from entering the shop.

"But I need a few smart tops for university so it's not buying for the sake of buying, it's useful buying!" "That's not a relevant excuse for you Theresa, for anyone else it may be, but I've seen the amount of clothes AND smart tops you have and you certainly don't need anymore!" There was no way of getting round her, she wasn't going to let me shop so I decided not to press the subject anymore and just go for lunch... (I might be able to sneak back later, telling her I was going somewhere else.)

This didn't happen fortunately, the realism angels voice is obviously getting louder and Thursday was a shopping free day.
On Friday I had no opportunity to shop so there were no temptations to weaken my will and although I was on the internet for part of the day I restrained myself from looking on any online stores.

Today I'm at home trying to motivate myself to get some university work done, I will not be leaving the house and even if I do I won't be in the vacinity of any clothes shops so there's no risk of a slip up... so far so good!

First obstacle of The Challenge

moneyIn December 2010 I and my boyfriend Steve bought a Peugeot 307 with the intention that I would learn to drive in it and Steve would use it instead of his car (to save on petrol). I booked my driving test for January 25th however because of the bad weather had to cancel it as I hadn't practiced over Christmas. Since then I've been so busy with university work that I haven't got round to learning again and the Peugeot is becoming a bit of a drain on money sooo.... we decided to sell it. Last night a nice man came round to have a look at the car and decided to buy it, he took it away with him and paid in cash...
THE DILEMMA, I now have enough money to pay off my debt and to spend around £100 on CLOTHES!!! This is not an option as I have said on my Challenge page, I am trying to save for a holiday!
  • I have purposely avoided checking my emails incase there are any from online shops
  • I'm having to plan my free Saturday so I do not pass any shops that my little shopping devil might feel the need to pop up in
  • AND consciously having to ignore the fact that I could buy clothes!
Today I am staying in so as long as I stop myself from going onto the Topshop or ASOS website I should be ok, I'll let you know how the rest of the week goes!
